My name is Basem Goueli (pronounced Bassim Gwaylee). I did my undergraduate at the University of Minnesota. Thereafter, I completed my MD and PhD in biochemistry at the Mayo Clinic. My internal medicine residency training was at George Washington University and the National Institutes of Health. My hematology/medical oncology clinical fellowship and post-doctoral fellowship in biochemistry was at Stanford. Recently, i completed my MBA at the University of North Carolina.

I have directed three separate cancer institutes in my career. In March of 2022 I iwll be the medical director of the entire hematology and oncology service line at a seven-hospital and seven cancer center program, in Kansas City. I recently started two companies. I can't go into detail too much, but they will be heavily reliant on AI/machine learning. Presently, I consult for four pharmaceutical compaines, and am the national medical monitor on two clinical trials for Xbiotech.

I have a VERY RUDIMENTARY understanding of AI/ML, having completed a data analytics class during my MBA trianing. I am presently enrolled in a python classs through the University of North Carolina.

I have numerous interests, including soccer, football, basketball, music, movies, etc. I have strived my entire life to be extremely well-rounded, and am looking forward to getting to know all of you.
